Frank R(Rudy) Douthit DVM
Owner/Veterinarian:
I grew up on a farm in western Kansas. Graduated from Kansas State University in 1970 with a degree in veterinary medicine. Spent 2 years in the Air Force stationed at Nellis AFB during the Vietnam War. We moved to Loveland in 1973 where I worked in a mixed practice for 4 years before opening this clinic in 1977. The population has gradually changed from rural to suburban and so has the practice. In 1993 we became a strictly small animal practice. I have been married to Pat since 1969 and have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren. I served on the Berthoud Town Board in the early 80's and BHS booster club in the late 80's. I belong to LCVMA, CVMA, AVMA and AAHA, plus the Veterinary Surgical Laser Society.
In my free time I play tennis, ski and spend time with our grandchildren. And for some reason I am hooked on Sudoku.

Patty Cowell CVT
Position: Head Tech:
I graduated from Bel-Rae Institute of Animal Technology in 1991 and began working for Berthoud Animal Hospital in November of 1991. I belong to the CACVT. What I love most about my job is assisting with orthopedic surgeries. It is also very rewarding when we can help the sick pets with diagnosis and treatment. Their owners are so grateful since their pets are members of their families. I am number 6 in a family of 7 children and was raised in Arizona. I moved to Colorado in 1986. I have 2 grown sons, also 3 horses, 1 dog and 1 cat. I enjoy training and trail riding my horses, weaving, spinning wool, stain glass and reading.

Position: Technician:
I graduated from Front Range Community College in 2003 with an AAS degree. I began working for Berthoud Animal Hospital right after graduation. I like that every day is different. We never have the same day 2 days in a row. I am good with animals and like working with them. My husband and I live in Loveland. We have 1 dog, 3 cats and 2 ferrets. I love horses and try to ride 4 times a week. We also like to camp with friends in the summer.

Patricia Douthit MTASCP
Position: Practice Manager:
I graduated from South Dakota State University with a BS degree in medical technology a long time ago. I then married the veterinary profession. Running the clinic as a business was laid at my feet and I happily obliged. It has been and continues to be challenging and rewarding. I have spent a lot of time becoming educated about the role of computers and the business aspect of veterinary medicine. I have served on many school committees, United Way, President of Berthoud Chamber of Commerce. I enjoy yoga, tennis, gardening and our 4 grandchildren.
